After losing her mother as a result of colon cancer, in 2014, Latrice decided to organize a 5K to honor her mother's life. Latrice and her mother shared a very close relationship and they also shared a secret-the physical abuse her mother suffered for 5 years at the hands of her father.
On October 18, 2014, during Domestic Violence Awareness Month, the 1st Annual Purple Hose and Heels 5K Charity Event was held in Matteson,Il with Target being a corporate sponsor. The ladies walked a mile in their sister's shoes literally, as they walked in purple hose and heels chanting "End the Silence Stop the Violence" The event was a huge success and they raised $1500 for the South Suburban Family Shelter. This has since become an annual event. Additionally, in 2018, Latrice created The Purple Hose and Healing Foundation. Her goal is to award scholarships to three high school students that have been effected by domestic violence and/or been in an abusive relationship.
In October 2018, Latrice became the executive producer of the hit stage play Survivor's Monologue, which is based on her personal experience with Domestic Violence. The play made it's debut on Saturday, February 2, 2019 with 2 SOLD OUT shows. Both shows were a huge success. Survivor's Monologue also had an encore presentation on October 26, 2019, at Victory Apostolic Church in Matteson.
Latrice is a mother of an adult college student, Ashlyn. She is also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc for over 25 years.
Latrice "The Ice Cream Lady" Mosley-Smith is known for her fashionable hosiery line, but her journey into boutiques nationwide was far from a straight path. While her background is in the criminal justice field Latrice opted to risk it all on her dream of entrepreneurship. Her story is one of fearlessness and reinvention.
After resigning from her position with the federal government she became a college professor and business owner. In 2012, Latrice launched The Haute Fishnet Hosiery Collection. She has given fashionable hosiery a serious face lift. Hand picking every product each season. Latrice is not selling your mother's stockings. Her company has worked to change the perception of fashion hosiery from simple accessory to statement piece. Her unique line caters to woman of all shapes and sizes. The product is sold in sizes 2-22.

Several local and national celebrities have been seen wearing the Haute Hosiery such as Valerie Warner, Darlene Hill, Micah Materre, Jeanne Sparrow, Tamela Mann, Syleena Johnson, Traci Braxton, Jackee Harry and Terri Vaughn. Latrice and her hosiery line has also been featured in print media. She has 35 Authorized Agent all over the United States and in Canada.
